I've now completed editing the first video for my project, so I'm glad that I just need to acquire or film the next few episodes, and I'll be good to go and focus on my dissertation and Folio piece.
I've just been watching 1-2 clips from Youtube, when a lab technician comes up to me and tells me not to view media on Youtube, as the internet quota is taken from them and not mine. I mean, how does he know I'm even using Youtube? Unless he's monitoring the usage of the lab computers? Major invasion of Privacy!!! Even so, as a full fee paying international student, I've paid more $$$ to this uni so that I may use the internet to facilitate my studies.
Sure, Youtube clips are mostly fun, but I was just watching 1-2 clips until I was rudely interrupted, as I was waiting for my movie file to be exported from iMovie. I would think that as a media lab, they would provide free internet access to Arts students, especially media students, as we need to download free media in order to create our projects. So what, I can't even use a bit of video, to keep myself amused, while my project is exporting? This is ridiculous! We students pay your salary! We deserve free internet access! We've paid through our noses in order to get a good education, and we can't even get free internet? Uni sure knows how to make us extremely poor!
*grumble grumble*
Now that the heavy rain has stopped, I'll be going to get my requested books from the library, have lunch and beg a friend to help film me for my project. Need to get a metal scourer too, damn. Lots of things to do today. Wish me luck.
